OUTSTANDING SCHOOL MEDIA LIBRARIAN

"Denise Kirzinger, librarian at Conway Middle, was honored as the 2012 Outstanding School Media Librarian by the Jefferson County School Media Association (JCSMA). Conway Principal Jack Baldwin wrote in his nomination of Kirzinger that, "The library can be a determining factor in a school's success and culture, but it takes an outstanding librarian to raise it to its potential." A teacher at Conway wrote in her recommendation that "[Kirzinger's] sincere desire to help others and her passion for serving people is infectious and often makes the difference between someone's good day or bad day." Since staff members at Conway affectionately refer to Kirzinger as their "Library Diva," she was presented with a tiara, boa, and wand in addition to the plaque with her name on it."--JCPS Monday Memo
