This award is to be given to a Jefferson County school administrator considered to be outstanding and who offers a sustained contribution toward furthering the role of the library and the librarian in the development of effective school library media programs.

A school librarian may download the application form here if interested in nominating an administrator in his/her school for this award. Please contact the appropriate JCSMA Board member for specific details.

Nominations should meet the following.

Eligibility:

• Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher and have at least 18 credit hours in Library Science.
• Have at least 5 years of school library experience.
• Be an active member of Jefferson County School Media Association and Kentucky School Media Association/Kentucky Library Association.
• Hold the respect of the other Library Media Specialists, school personnel, and the public in general.

Award: Recognition and certificate at Spring Dinner Banquet.
